History of Linear Cycle Productions
Linear Cycle Productions was first established in 1983 as a video production company for providing programming for a regional community TV channel in suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota. Its first release
Hi Mom! Halloween at Carbondale, Illinois, a documentary on the 1981 All Hallow’s Eve celebration at Southern Illinois University, was well received by critics and viewers alike. Its second title, Gimmie Dat Magic Want or Pen Pals Meet Their Match, released in 1984, was an original comedy program featuring skits, blackouts, and comical selections that was written, directed, and
co-performed by Rich Borowy.
Its most profound program was Accessibly Live, a weekly live call-in talk series originally created by Joel Knudsen in 1982 as an independent production. Rich became involved with the show in mid-1984 as co-producer, later taking entire control of the series in September, 1985 serving as lead producer and host.
Accessibly Live continued to thrive in the Minneapolis area until the end of 1986, where it moved to suburban St. Louis, Missouri in early 1987, continuing on its weekly run until June, 1991.
